There's no such thing as writer's block according to Mr. Ricky Lee. If you have been following this little blog then you would know that the person writing this had a little trip to her Alma Mater, The Cebu Normal University. Yesterday being Valentines day was a festive day for lovers and the single blessedness. Every hopeless romantics around the world was busy writing love notes, preparing/booking dinner or buying chocolates and flowers for their special someone plus all the fancy pancy. I, on the other hand did not have any romantic date like the ones you see in Hollywood cheese-ball movies. But, I had spent the most valuable four hours with no other than Mr. Ricky Lee himself. To say that this year's Valentines date is the best is an understatement. It can't get any better. Strolling down memory lane during college days with Lester and Chellet. The lecture and of course having your book signed with one of the writer that shaped Philippine cinema and literature. What more can a literati ask for? Recollecting on college days with my creative writing class, we had a "Where I'm writing from" exercise and it took me four years to fully understand what it was all about. Writers write from their own time and from their own place. I also remember a kindred soul telling me that I'm an existentialist. I need to exist to write. Maybe I really am and there's nothing with it. Since I already existed, I had to kill myself to live again. Everything that has happened to me, I pour it all out whole heartedly on this blog. I cannot write about something that I have not experience. It's the same in giving something we never had. I killed myself a lot of times. I've lived a thousand lives and that's all for the love of writing. My life is my work.
