I’m stripped down to my most basic essential for going beachy – a tank top and the cut out shorts. I tell you, the tropical heat is unbearable that I’m always dehydrated and my lips crack every now and then. It’s important to drink lots of liquid and put on sun screen otherwise you’ll suffer heat stroke. No kidding. Whatever the Gatorade commercial is trying to sell might be true since it does replenish and quench your thirst. No wonder Lady Gaga donned the Look-Ma-No-Pants or it's just because of her eclectic taste and always changing fashion. Funny how people always complain about the weather. If it's not too hot, it's freezing cold. I'm actually guilty of what I just said. 

Sharing with you the song that's stuck into my head for 72 hours now. I raped my replay button for The Script. That's my way of  feeling OKAY that I wasn't able to watch them live when they were in Manila. This girl doesn't have loads of cash and time to fly to the capital city, yah know. The song also reminds me so much of how life was three years ago - melancholy and the infinite sadness. I wanted words but all I heard was nothing.

30 Seconds To Mars

Brandon Boyd and Jared Leto in two days. The Incubus concert in Araneta will be on July 28th and if all systems go, Jared Leto and his boys will perform live in Trinoma a day after. If my bank account would accommodate, it's like hitting two birds in one stone. Oh boy! Keeping my fingers tightly closed. :)

It's an almost Fam Bam tradition of ours to hit the waves every easter. The Metro's extremely hot for an obvious reason that tropical summer is here. You can seriously have bucket loads of sweat just by sitting on your chair and not exposed to the sun. If it helps one to lose weight, that's fine but the heat is almost intolerable. The quick getaway to the province was quite refreshing. After all the repentance and purging for Holy Week, everyone's back to regular programming. We celebrated two things last Sunday, the resurrection of the Holy One and Captain Jack who's now forever 21. There's really absolutely nothing that can compare with the amount of time and fun spent with your bloodlines. It's not something that happens everyday and even if we live in the same house or compound (block) we don't see each other on a daily basis cause we have separate lives. Our house is still a home even if it's like a terminal sometimes. Each one comes and go either for work and school. BUT, that doesn't mean we don't care or look out for each other. THIS is something rare and only happens on holidays or special occasions. THIS is what keeps me going.

The color of the wall in our front yard and the top is so similar that I feel like a chameleon trying to blend in with the surrounding. Makes me scream, I belong! It's an expression we use here when your outfit has the same color or pattern with the table cloth, curtain and what not. The whole idea of the I belong expression is to own the situation sans the odd comparison. Made me realize that sometimes it looks like the clothes are wearing me versus me wearing the clothes. I'm no model but I did learn some trick of the trade after watching America's Top Model. There's so much learning every time I blog, read other people's blogs and even right after my narcissistic outfit shots are taken. Big thanks to my sister Liezyl for the photos. She's pretty awesome. :)

This is Love

Everyone knows you can't choose your family, but you can choose your friends.

Celebrating four years of being together since the April 12, 2007 hire date. Some of us are no longer with the company that brought us closer but friendship doesn't end there. We also surprised expectant mother Iza with a baby shower. We're welcoming another wavemate this year. The dinner/baby shower turned out to be great except for someone who rained on somebody else's parade. Seriously?! I really hate it when someone steals someone else's thunder. This is how you know who your real friends are. Thanks to everyone who waited and who stood by everyone. 

I don't have an outfit post to share with you guys and here are some photos taken by my trusted point and shoot. :)

classic but not romantic

If I become a housewife, that’s how I want my kitchen to look like. I’m referring to the first photo. Last Friday, I went out for some dinner and coffee with my best bud who’s also responsible for my outfit shots. I brought him to Simply J’s and I’m giving him a shout out since he’s been patient in keeping up with me by taking photos of my narcissistic self.

The clothes I'm wearing are all thrifted vintage. The entire look excluding the shoes cost me less than $5 or 200php. I love the material of this skirt, it made me feel like a ballerina because of the tulle. No matter what the length of my skirt is, people still stare at me. Where I live, people are not so used to seeing girls like me who dress up. They sometimes give you the kind of stare that makes you feel like you’re too over-dressed or something but what the hell. I need to blog! Or maybe I just assumed too much but it's still rude to stare, yeah know.  But still, what the hell. :D

Ten Doves

I'm busy planning for my college friends baby shower and it will be held in this vintage restaurant. It's located in Sto Nino Village near USC-TC and it's aptly called Ten Doves because it's in Dove street and the tenth place or house. I've been wanting to dine here since last year but every time I swing by, it's either close or fully-booked for a function. On one sunny day, I just asked my friend to go there with me, unplanned with no reservations and what-not. It was sheer luck that we had ten doves all by ourselves and it's a great place to take outfit shots. It's funny that unplanned things happen over the things you plan to do. I love the vintage feel of the place and it's also located away from the busy metro. I was purely lucky to book it for Saturday and it's going to be a reunion of some sorts. I'm really happy for my friend who's expecting her first baby boy. She doesn't know we're throwing her a baby shower since the invite was for a get-together dinner. I'm so stoked for Saturday! :)
